The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has clarified the situation regarding visa issuance once more by refuting the false claims that it was not granting visas to Pakistanis.
“A lie has been propagated for two years that the UAE was not issuing visas to Pakistanis,” stated UAE Consul General Dr. Bakheet Ateeq Al Remeithi, who was addressing a gathering in Karachi.
The ambassador went on to say, “Anyone who wishes to obtain a visa should visit the UAE visa centre.”
Remeithi reiterated that the government had instructed them to help Pakistan and reaffirmed the Emirate’s support for Islamabad.
The consul general emphasised that investments were being made and predicted that significant improvement in this area would occur within a month or two.
The UAE official made these comments after Pakistan’s Embassy denied media claims last week that the UAE government released a paper outlining justifications for restricting Pakistani nationals’ access to visas.
The statement came after reports in the media said that the UAE government’s cabinet had discussed banning Pakistani nationals from obtaining visas.
The nation has previously denied such speculations back in August, thus Consul General Remeithi’s promise against a visa suspension is not the first.
Speaking to the Geo News program “Geo Pakistan” at the time, the diplomat cautioned Pakistani expatriates residing there against disseminating false information about their nation, institutions, or political figures.
“Regardless of which social media platform you use either in Pakistan or UAE, whatever you share or like leaves a digital footprint […] whether you share, liked something good or bad [….] these things will lead to your ban [or visa rejection],” he said.
