Rain Hits Dubai: On Friday morning, numerous residents of the United Arab Emirates were greeted by a rainy day, with lightning strikes observed in certain regions. The mountains were also affected by the winter cold, with temperatures plummeting to 2.2°C, the coldest day of the season thus far.

In the morning, motorists traversed damp roads in several critical regions of Dubai, including Umm Suqeim, Jumeirah, Al Safa, and Al Jaddaf, where showers were reported.

The Dubai Police issued a reminder to motorists to exercise extra caution and adhere to certain safety regulations. Drive at a reduced speed and maintain a safe distance from the road’s edge. Ensure that the wipers are functioning properly and activate the low-beam headlamps.

The National Centre of Meteorology also reported that light rain was observed in Mohamed Bin Zayed City in Abu Dhabi, Suhaila in Sharjah, and Umm Al Quwain.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) recorded the coldest temperature of the winter thus far in the highlands of Ras Al Khaimah’s Jebel Jais: At 6:45 a.m., the temperature plummeted to a frigid 2.2°C.

Partly overcast to cloudy skies are anticipated in other regions of the UAE, with the northern, eastern, and coastal regions being particularly susceptible to this phenomenon.

The NCM stated that the weather will be humid in certain internal areas from Friday night until Saturday morning, with a potential for the formation of fog or mist.

Light to moderate winds will blow from the northwest to the northeast, occasionally producing blowing dust. The wind speed will be between 15 and 30 kilometres per hour, with the potential to exceed 40 kilometres per hour.

The NCM also stated that the sea will be moderate to slight in the Oman Sea and turbulent to moderate in the Arabian Gulf.
