Dnata Logistics has begun construction on a new 57,000 sq. m. warehouse in Dubai South, set to boost its storage capacity by 50%. The AED 100 million (USD $27 million) facility will handle 400,000 tonnes of cargo annually and create over 50 new jobs. Strategically located near Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International Airport, this expansion reinforces Dubai’s position as a global logistics hub.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by HE Khalifa Al Zaffin, Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South, and Steve Allen, CEO of dnata.

The state-of-the-art facility will feature cutting-edge technologies, including automated systems for cargo storage and retrieval (ASRS), truck loading, and an AI-driven warehouse management system (WMS). Designed with sustainability in mind, it will incorporate solar panels, rainwater and energy harvesting systems, and smart HVAC systems, aiming to achieve LEED certification within a year of operation.

Scheduled for completion in November 2025, the warehouse will be the latest addition to dnata Logistics’ 11 UAE locations. Sean Bradley, Managing Director of dnata Logistics, emphasized the facility’s role in future growth, improved service offerings, and operational innovation, with a strong focus on sustainability.

Mohsen Ahmad, CEO of Dubai South’s Logistics District, expressed support for the new facility, noting its value to Dubai South’s ecosystem and the city’s status as a global logistics hub.

dnata Logistics continues to expand its infrastructure and service offerings to meet growing market demands, including the acquisition of a new DWC warehouse and expanded services like air import handling and documentation management. The company is part of dnata, one of the world’s largest air and travel services providers, employing over 28,000 people in Dubai.
